Cisco Network Engineer

Our client, an IT Services organization supporting commercial and federal clients, is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer (CCNP level) work with the client's small team and contribute as needed at all levels.

The initial contract is for 6 months with the potential to extend based on job performance and business needs. The selected Network Engineer will be required to work onsite Monday to Friday in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities:

- Represent department at customer meetings to discuss network needs and technology solutions.
- Step into technical leadership role as needed to address configuration and design needs in support of various projects.
- Hands on keyboard as needed.
- Hands on network hardware field installation or replacement as needed.

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to client's requirement
- Bachelor-s degree in related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in similar role
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco networking configurations.
- Wide area networking and Internet Service provider management experience.
- Cloud hosting and SAAS connectivity experience.
- Demonstrated network security knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrated network troubleshooting skills.
- Cisco certification a plus (CCNP or higher).
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check prior to starting
- Must be able to work onsite M-F (35 hours per week).
- Ability to be on call 24/7 for production issues
